It is my privilege to know Carlton Hall, and to offer some thoughts about working with him for some 20+ years. Carlton is one of those rare persons who can span multiple cultures and communities to partner with people to build their competence to effect meaningful community improvement locally. His combination of life experience, technical competence in skills associated with community building, expertise at conducting workshops and trainings with community members, and his leadership coaching for executives is among the best I experienced in the field of community health improvement. Carlton's international experience adds to the value of his work, demonstrating that this work is as global as it is local. Myself and colleagues at our research and training center at the University of Kansas look forward to our continued collaboration for many years to come.
